Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Bass Coast Mainland in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,240 males or 22.2%)
  • Retail Trade (486 males or 8.7%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (395 males or 7.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,121 males in total or 38.0% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, North Wonthaggi employed 25.5% in Construction; 12.5% in Retail Trade; and 3.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Bass Coast Mainland and North Wonthaggi were:
