Analysis of the car ownership of the households in Phillip Island in 2021 compared to Wellington Shire Council shows that 89.3% of the households owned at least one car, while 3.7% did not, compared with 88.9% and 4.2% respectively in Wellington Shire Council.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a similar proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 38.6% of the households owned one car; 35.8% owned two cars; and 14.8% owned three cars or more, compared with 30.7%; 35.5% and 22.7% respectively for Wellington Shire Council.
