Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Big Rivers in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (1,270 people or 19.0%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (1,183 people or 17.7%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (931 people or 13.9%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 3,384 people in total or 50.6% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Central Desert Regional Council LGA employed 20.4% in Professionals; 21.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 5.5% in Technicians and Trades Workers.
