Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in RDA Northern Territory in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (11,531 females or 22.0%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (9,070 females or 17.3%)
  • Education and Training (7,370 females or 14.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 27,971 females in total or 53.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Tiwi Islands Regional Council LGA employed 15.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.1% in Public Administration and Safety; and 35.0% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the RDA Northern Territory and Tiwi Islands Regional Council LGA were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (22.0% compared to 15.0%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (17.3% compared to 12.1%)
