Dominant groups

Analysis of the share of the male population attending educational institutions in the City of Darwin LGA in 2021 compared to Tiwi Islands Regional Council LGA shows that there was a lower proportion attending primary school, a lower proportion attending secondary school, and a higher proportion engaged in tertiary level education.

Overall, 8.1% of the male population were attending primary school, 5.9% of the male population were attending secondary institutions, and 7.2% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 9.6%, 8.7% and 1.2% respectively for Tiwi Islands Regional Council LGA.

The major differences between the share of the male population attending learning institutions in the City of Darwin LGA and Tiwi Islands Regional Council LGA were:
