Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Limestone Coast region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,376 females or 22.6%)
  • Retail Trade (2,003 females or 13.4%)
  • Education and Training (1,809 females or 12.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 7,188 females in total or 48.2% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the Tatiara District Council area employed 16.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.6% in Retail Trade; and 9.2% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Limestone Coast region and the Tatiara District Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (22.6% compared to 16.7%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (12.1% compared to 9.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (10.0% compared to 18.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in manufacturing (5.8% compared to 12.8%)

  • Education and Training (+135 females)
  • Retail Trade (-121 females)
