Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Newcastle East in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (119 people or 22.7%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (72 people or 13.7%)
  • Education and Training (57 people or 10.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 248 people in total or 47.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, New Lambton Heights employed 25.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 12.9% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Newcastle East and New Lambton Heights were:
