Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Chadstone in 2016 compared to City of Monash shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 28.7% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.6% were one-parent families, compared with 36.0% and 9.6% respectively for City of Monash.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 20.5% compared to 18.9% in City of Monash while the proportion of couples without children was 23.9% compared to 23.6% in City of Monash.
