Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of Notting Hill in 2016 compared to City of Monash shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 10.9% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 8.0% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 15.8% and 17.2% respectively for City of Monash.

The major differences between the age structure of Notting Hill and City of Monash were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 20 to 24 (20.5% compared to 9.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (17.7% compared to 7.8%)
