Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Sorrento in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (638 females or 34.0%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (386 females or 20.6%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (302 females or 16.1%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,326 females in total or 70.6% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Australia employed 27.8% in Professionals; 19.6% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 16.8% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Sorrento and Australia were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (34.0% compared to 27.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Labourers (2.7% compared to 6.7%)
