Mullaloo is bounded by the suburb of Ocean Reef, Oceanside Promenade and Ocean Reef Road in the north, Marmion Avenue in the east, Kallaroo Place, Mullaloo Drive, Northshore Drive and the suburb of Kallaroo in the south and the Indian Ocean in the west.

Name origin

Mullaloo is named from an Aboriginal name meaning "place of the rat kangaroo".

Settlement history

Development of the area dates primarily from the 1950s. Rapid growth took place during the late 1970s and 1980s. The population has declined marginally since the mid 1990s, a result of little change in dwelling stock and a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling.
