There were more male technicians and trades workers in Central Ward in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Central Ward in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (1,998 males or 28.2%)
  • Professionals (1,360 males or 19.2%)
  • Managers (1,081 males or 15.3%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 4,439 males in total or 62.7% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, South-East Ward employed 25.7% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 21.0% in Professionals; and 14.8% in Managers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Central Ward and South-East Ward were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (28.2% compared to 25.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Professionals (19.2% compared to 21.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (5.6% compared to 6.8%)
