Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Ocean Reef in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (431 males or 19.3%)
  • Mining (242 males or 10.9%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (216 males or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 889 males in total or 39.9% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Western Australia employed 14.2% in Construction; 11.3% in Mining; and 7.4% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Ocean Reef and Western Australia were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (19.3% compared to 14.2%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (9.7% compared to 7.4%)
