Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Central Ward in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,552 females or 23.2%)
  • Education and Training (1,119 females or 16.8%)
  • Retail Trade (736 females or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,407 females in total or 51.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Kingsley employed 22.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 18.5% in Education and Training; and 9.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Central Ward and Kingsley were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (11.0% compared to 9.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (16.8% compared to 18.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in manufacturing (1.9% compared to 3.0%)
