Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Kinross in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (458 males or 22.6%)
  • Mining (172 males or 8.5%)
  • Retail Trade (155 males or 7.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 785 males in total or 38.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Edgewater employed 19.5% in Construction; 9.3% in Mining; and 7.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Kinross and Edgewater were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (22.6% compared to 19.5%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (5.0% compared to 4.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (6.2% compared to 9.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in education and training (4.0% compared to 6.3%)
