Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in South Ward in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (1,221 males or 17.6%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (834 males or 12.0%)
- Mining (689 males or 9.9%)
In combination, these three industries employed 2,744 males in total or 39.6% of the total employed male resident population.
In comparison, Edgewater employed 19.5% in Construction; 9.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 9.3% in Mining.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of South Ward and Edgewater were:
