Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Central Ward in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,522 males or 21.7%)
  • Mining (619 males or 8.8%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (552 males or 7.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,693 males in total or 38.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Duncraig employed 15.5% in Construction; 10.1% in Mining; and 14.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Central Ward and Duncraig were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (21.7% compared to 15.5%)
