Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the City of Joondalup compared to Western Australia shows that there was a lower proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Burns Beach and Western Australia were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 85 and over (57.1% compared to 45.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (7.3% compared to 14.3%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (1.7% compared to 6.1%)
