Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the City of Joondalup compared to Warwick shows that there was a lower proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 3.7% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 4.7% for Warwick.

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in North Ward and Warwick were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (26.9% compared to 14.8%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 60 to 64 (3.4% compared to 0.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 5 to 9 (5.4% compared to 10.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (11.0% compared to 14.4%)
