Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Growth Areas District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,776 people or 13.6%)
  • Construction (2,496 people or 12.3%)
  • Retail Trade (1,946 people or 9.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 7,218 people in total or 35.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Bringelly - Cobbitty employed 10.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.9% in Construction; and 9.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Growth Areas District and Bringelly - Cobbitty were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (13.6% compared to 10.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in construction (12.3% compared to 14.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (1.0% compared to 3.0%)
