Location and boundaries

Mount Annan is bounded by Narellan Road in the north, Campbelltown City in the east, the Nepean River and the suburb of Spring Farm in the south, and the suburb of Narellan Vale and Morshead Road in the west.

Settlement history

Development of the area dates primarily from the late 1980s. Rapid growth took place from the early 1990s, with the population increasing from about 600 in 1991 to over 10,000 in 2011, a result of large numbers of new dwellings being added to the area. Growth is expected to continue, largely from development in the south.

Land use

Mount Annan is a recent residential area, with substantial parklands and some commercial land use.

Major features of the area include The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan, William Howe Regional Park, Mount Annan Shopping Village, Mount Annan Marketplace, Mount Annan Central (shopping centre), Mount Annan Leisure Centre, Lake Annan, Lake Yandelorah, Birriwa Reserve, Elder Reserve, George Caley Reserve, Kurrajong Reserve, Sarah Rose Reserve, Stockmans Drift, Wandarrah Reserve, Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living and two schools.

This area encompasses the Camden Council area part of the suburb of Mount Annan, with the remaining part of the suburb located in Campbelltown City.
