Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Camden in 2021 compared to the Growth Areas District shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 26.9% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.2% were one-parent families, compared with 50.9% and 10.8% respectively for the Growth Areas District.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 31.8% compared to 11.1% in the Growth Areas District while the proportion of couples without children was 22.1% compared to 21.3% in the Growth Areas District.
