Dominant groups

Analysis of the qualifications of the male population in the City of Adelaide in 2021 compared to Greater Adelaide shows that there was a higher proportion of males holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), and a lower proportion of males with no formal qualifications.

Overall, 61.6% of the male population aged 15 and over held educational qualifications, and 28.3% had no qualifications, compared with 55.9% and 37.9% respectively for Greater Adelaide.

The major differences between qualifications held by the male population of the City of Adelaide and Greater Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of males with Bachelor or Higher degrees (44.1% compared to 23.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of males with Vocational qualifications (9.8% compared to 24.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of males with No qualifications (28.3% compared to 37.9%)

Emerging groups

The largest changes in the qualifications of the male population in the City of Adelaide between 2011 and 2021 were in those with:
