There were more female professionals in CAD West in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in CAD West in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (244 females or 26.7%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (225 females or 24.6%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (120 females or 13.1%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 589 females in total or 64.4% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, South West Corner employed 32.2% in Professionals; 21.4% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 15.2% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of CAD West and South West Corner were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Sales Workers (11.6% compared to 6.0%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (24.6% compared to 21.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (26.7% compared to 32.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (5.0% compared to 8.1%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in CAD West increased by 727 between 2006 and 2021.

The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2006 and 2021 in CAD West were for those employed as:

  • Professionals (+192 females)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (+181 females)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (+96 females)
  • Sales Workers (+89 females)
