Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City South in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (971 people or 38.9%)
  • Managers (330 people or 13.2%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (314 people or 12.6%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,615 people in total or 64.6% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, South East Overlay employed 39.8% in Professionals; 14.5% in Managers; and 12.2% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of City South and South East Overlay were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (8.9% compared to 7.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Managers (13.2% compared to 14.5%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed people in City South increased by 1,242 between 2011 and 2021.

The largest changes in the occupations of residents between 2011 and 2021 in City South were for those employed as:
