Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Upper North Adelaide in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (264 females or 24.2%)
  • Education and Training (157 females or 14.4%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (133 females or 12.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 554 females in total or 50.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Adelaide employed 20.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.7% in Education and Training; and 11.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Upper North Adelaide and the City of Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (24.2% compared to 20.2%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (14.4% compared to 11.7%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (9.7% compared to 8.7%)
