Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City South in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (220 females or 18.6%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (174 females or 14.7%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (159 females or 13.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 553 females in total or 46.7% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, South Australia employed 26.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.5% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 5.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of City South and South Australia were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (13.4% compared to 5.8%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (14.7% compared to 7.5%)
