Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Upper North Adelaide in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (173 males or 15.0%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (150 males or 13.0%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (95 males or 8.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 418 males in total or 36.3% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, CAD East employed 18.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 10.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 6.1% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Upper North Adelaide and CAD East were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (7.7% compared to 3.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (13.0% compared to 10.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in accommodation and food services (7.9% compared to 14.2%)
