Dominant groups
Analysis of the male five year age groups of the City of Adelaide in 2021 compared to South West Corner shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 5.9% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 14.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 9.1% and 8.8% respectively for South West Corner.
The major differences between the male age structure of the City of Adelaide and South West Corner were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 20 to 24 (17.5% compared to 10.6%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 40 to 44 (5.6% compared to 8.6%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 55 to 59 (4.9% compared to 7.2%)

From 2011 to 2021, City of Adelaide's male population increased by 2,620 people (25.8%). This represents an average annual population change of 2.32% per year over the period.
The largest changes in male age structure in this area between 2011 and 2021 were in the age groups:

- 30 to 34 (+365 males)
- 70 to 74 (+309 males)
- 35 to 39 (+273 males)
