Dominant groups

Analysis of the share of the male population attending educational institutions in the City of Adelaide in 2021 compared to CAD West shows that there was a higher proportion attending primary school, a higher proportion attending secondary school, and a lower proportion engaged in tertiary level education.

Overall, 2.8% of the male population were attending primary school, 1.8% of the male population were attending secondary institutions, and 24.0% were learning at a tertiary level, compared with 0.9%, 1.0% and 37.8% respectively for CAD West.

The major differences between the share of the male population attending learning institutions in the City of Adelaide and CAD West were:

  • A larger percentage of males not attending (60.4% compared to 39.8%)
  • A larger percentage of males attending a primary school (any type) (2.8% compared to 0.9%)
  • A larger percentage of males attending a Government primary school (2.0% compared to 0.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of males attending University (21.2% compared to 34.3%)
