Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Outer Eastern region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Mining (172 males or 16.9%)
  • Construction (165 males or 16.2%)
  • Manufacturing (83 males or 8.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 420 males in total or 41.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the Shire of Mundaring employed 13.5% in Mining; 14.7% in Construction; and 7.6% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Outer Eastern region and the Shire of Mundaring were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in mining (16.9% compared to 13.5%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (16.2% compared to 14.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (2.4% compared to 1.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (5.0% compared to 6.5%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed males in Outer Eastern region increased by 66 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest change in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Outer Eastern region was for those employed in:
