Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Outer Eastern region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (165 females or 17.7%)
  • Education and Training (136 females or 14.6%)
  • Retail Trade (88 females or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 389 females in total or 41.7% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Parkerville - Stoneville - Hovea employed 17.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 16.1% in Education and Training; and 10.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Outer Eastern region and Parkerville - Stoneville - Hovea were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in wholesale trade (3.3% compared to 1.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (5.9% compared to 7.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (0.3% compared to 2.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (14.6% compared to 16.1%)

The number of employed females in Outer Eastern region increased by 82 between 2016 and 2021.
