Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Outer Eastern region in 2021 compared to the Shire of Mundaring shows that there was a similar proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 33.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 9.2% were one-parent families, compared with 33.1% and 9.8% respectively for the Shire of Mundaring.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.0% compared to 20.0% in the Shire of Mundaring while the proportion of couples without children was 32.6% compared to 31.4% in the Shire of Mundaring.
