There were more male managers in Hillarys in 2016 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Hillarys in 2016 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Managers (652 males or 23.2%)
- Professionals (631 males or 22.4%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (585 males or 20.8%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,868 males in total or 66.4% of the employed male resident population.
In comparison, North West Metropolitan Region employed 14.1% in Managers; 15.8% in Professionals; and 28.3% in Technicians and Trades Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Hillarys and North West Metropolitan Region were:
- A larger percentage of males employed as Managers (23.2% compared to 14.1%)
- A larger percentage of males employed as Professionals (22.4% compared to 15.8%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (20.8% compared to 28.3%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (4.7% compared to 9.3%)
