Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Division 08 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (3,061 people or 15.4%)
- Retail Trade (2,149 people or 10.8%)
- Construction (2,054 people or 10.4%)
In combination, these three industries employed 7,264 people in total or 36.6% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Gold Coast City employed 15.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.4% in Retail Trade; and 11.4% in Construction.
The major difference between the jobs held by the population of Division 08 and Gold Coast City was:
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in construction (10.4% compared to 11.4%)
