Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Parkwood in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (793 people or 17.7%)
  • Retail Trade (494 people or 11.0%)
  • Construction (463 people or 10.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,750 people in total or 39.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Gold Coast City employed 15.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.4% in Retail Trade; and 11.4% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Parkwood and Gold Coast City were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (17.7% compared to 15.0%)
