Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Central Coast Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,645 people or 16.5%)
  • Retail Trade (994 people or 9.9%)
  • Education and Training (960 people or 9.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,599 people in total or 36.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional TAS employed 16.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.8% in Retail Trade; and 8.5% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Central Coast Council area and Regional TAS were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (9.6% compared to 8.5%)
