Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Rural Remainder in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (282 people or 23.7%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (133 people or 11.2%)
  • Manufacturing (89 people or 7.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 504 people in total or 42.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Central Coast Council area employed 7.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 16.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.1% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Rural Remainder and Central Coast Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (23.7% compared to 7.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (11.2% compared to 16.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in education and training (5.4% compared to 9.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in retail trade (7.1% compared to 9.9%)
