Dominant groups
Analysis of the male five year age groups of Victoria in 2021 compared to Victoria shows that there was a similar proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a similar proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 18.8% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 15.7% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 18.8% and 15.7% respectively for Victoria.
There were no major differences between Victoria and Victoria in 2021.
Emerging groups
From 2011 to 2021, Victoria's male population increased by 568,356 people (21.6%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.97% per year over the period.
The largest changes in male age structure in this area between 2011 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 30 to 34 (+59,487 males)
- 35 to 39 (+52,875 males)
- 70 to 74 (+50,693 males)
- 25 to 29 (+46,366 males)
