Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Tamworth Urban Area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (4,052 people or 18.2%)
- Retail Trade (2,322 people or 10.4%)
- Education and Training (2,173 people or 9.7%)
In combination, these three industries employed 8,547 people in total or 38.3% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Nundle - Rural South employed 11.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.4% in Retail Trade; and 10.1% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Tamworth Urban Area and Nundle - Rural South were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (18.2% compared to 11.3%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (9.5% compared to 5.8%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (10.4% compared to 7.4%)
