Location and boundaries

Hillvue is located to the south-west of the Tamworth CBD. Hillvue is bounded by Hillvue Road, Wilburtree Street and Calala Lane in the north, Goonoo Goonoo Creek in the east, Burgmanns Lane and the locality of Warral in the south, and the railway line in the west.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the 1830s. Growth was minimal until the late 1800s. Significant development occurred from the post-war years, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s. The population increased substantially from the early 1990s, a result of large numbers of new dwellings being added to the area, particularly from the Longyard Estate development.

Land use

Hillvue is a residential and rural area, with residential areas in the north.
