Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Waikiki in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (751 people or 13.4%)
  • Construction (596 people or 10.6%)
  • Retail Trade (584 people or 10.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,931 people in total or 34.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Rockingham employed 12.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.3% in Construction; and 9.6% in Retail Trade.

There were no major differences between Waikiki and City of Rockingham in 2021.
