Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Hastings in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (532 males or 25.1%)
  • Manufacturing (274 males or 12.9%)
  • Retail Trade (188 males or 8.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 994 males in total or 46.9% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Mornington Peninsula Shire employed 24.1% in Construction; 9.0% in Manufacturing; and 7.9% in Retail Trade.
