Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the 1840s, with land used mainly for grazing. Population was minimal until the 1860s, with growth into the early 1900s. Significant development occurred from the 1950s. The population fluctuated between 1991 and 2006, and then increased slightly between 2006 and 2011 as new dwellings were added to the area.
