Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Green Wedge in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (447 males or 21.4%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (223 males or 10.7%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (193 males or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 863 males in total or 41.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Capel Sound employed 25.2% in Construction; 1.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 4.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Green Wedge and Capel Sound were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (10.7% compared to 1.4%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (9.3% compared to 4.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in construction (21.4% compared to 25.2%)
