Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of Green Wedge in 2021 compared to Hastings shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 12.4% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 26.7% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 17.6% and 24.5% respectively for Hastings.

The major differences between the female age structure of Green Wedge and Hastings were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 60 to 64 (10.0% compared to 5.9%)
