Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of males in Mornington Peninsula Shire compared to Cerberus Ward shows that there was a lower proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 5.0% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 7.1% for Cerberus Ward.

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Briars Ward and Cerberus Ward were:

  • A smaller percentage of males aged 85 and over (33.8% compared to 44.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 70 to 74 (5.9% compared to 12.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (9.5% compared to 15.1%)
