Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Mulgrave in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (1,300 females or 29.3%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (933 females or 21.0%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (618 females or 13.9%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,851 females in total or 64.2% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, the City of Monash employed 33.9% in Professionals; 18.6% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 13.6% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Mulgrave and the City of Monash were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (21.0% compared to 18.6%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (29.3% compared to 33.9%)

The number of employed females in Mulgrave increased by 386 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Mulgrave were for those employed as:
