Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Mount Waverley in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2,280 people or 13.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,218 people or 13.0%)
  • Retail Trade (1,684 people or 9.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 6,182 people in total or 36.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Oakleigh South employed 11.4% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 12.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 10.0% in Retail Trade.
