Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Mount Waverley in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,349 males or 15.2%)
  • Construction (885 males or 9.9%)
  • Retail Trade (802 males or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,036 males in total or 34.1% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Oakleigh East - Huntingdale employed 12.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 11.6% in Construction; and 10.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Mount Waverley and Oakleigh East - Huntingdale were:
